Talk a little bit about the work you did at the newspaper.
Hetal Naik:
“I worked as a copy editor at the Times of India.”
Comm Creatives-People:
What were your duties there?
Hetal Naik:
“My job was to write and edit articles for special features that would be on fashion, accessories, automobiles, health, environment or education. I had to supervise page designing process and work with the graphic designers at the company. I also had to co-ordinate with other freelancers.”
Comm Creatives-People:
What advice would you give other students who want to be copy editors?
Hetal Naik:
“Students who wish to be copy editors would need to write, do interviews and read a lot. They would have to have good communication skills and knowledge of various areas of life. It can be a fulfilling job as one gets the chance to work on different subjects and explore creative ideas.”
